What does the arabic word "Swahili" mean? One who lives on the coast.
What is the religion of the Swahili people? Islam
What language is the Swahili language considered as even though there is many Arabic words in it. A Bantu language.
Why are many Arabic words in the Swahili language? Because of the interaction with early Arab traders.
Who brought the Islamic religion to the Swahili people? Arab traders.
How was the Swahili people created? Arab traders began to settle there and intermarry with the local Bantu-speaking population.
When did muslim traders first arrive? The 9th century.
What three countries are the swahili people located in? Kenya, Tanzania, Mozambique
