Macula yellow disk on retina behind lens
what nourishes the eye? blood vessels
what is conjunctiva? inner mucous membrane surface of the eyelids
What is Refraction The bending of light rays. produced by the cornea and the lens.
Hyperopia light comes to a focus behind retina. vision is better for distant objects. Commonly called farsightedness.Difficulty seeing objects up close.caused from globe of eye being abnormally short in length.
Presbyopia A form of farsightedness causes eye to lose focus. From loss of elasticity in crystalline lens. Caused from advancing age.
Myopia Light comes to focus in front of retina. vision better for nearby objects. commonly called nearsightedness.Happens when eyeball is abnormally long from front to back.
Astigmatism Refractive error when light entering eye is focused unevenly. Caused by variations in the curvature over lens or cornea. Creates out of focus vision.
