5 reasons the community as whole is reluctant to endorse marijuana. (1-2) (1) There are a number of drugs on the market as marijuana with out the side effects. (2) the THC content varies so much from one joint to the next, which making finding a TI impossible.
Metabolism (waste) Primary site of metabolism is in the liver, 65% excreted in the feces rest in the urine.
Marijuana mechanism Reduce pain.
Physical effects of Marijuana Physical relaxation, bloodshot eyes, coughing, increase in appetite, increased heart rate, decreased blood pressure,decreased ocular pressure, increased mucus flow, impaired tracking ability, &decreased in secretion of testosterone.
Marijuana Pharmacology It has 360-426 compunds, 61 psychoactive, over 2,000 metabolites when it is smoked.
Marijuana's Chief psychoactive substance Delta-9 tetra-hydro-cannininol or THC
From this plant Marijuana, hashish, & hash oil
Hashish Is the resin gathered typically from the flowering tops of the female plants & is much more potent.
Hashish Oil Prepared by oiling hash in solvent & straining out oils, this can be up to 70% potency THC.
First known reference to marijuana 2737 B.C. Chinese Emperor Shen Nung, as medicine.
How long has marijuana been used for It has been used for 5,000 years as medicine in many parts of the world.
India It was listed as one of the 5 sacred plants in the sacred texts, about 1500 B.C.
Harry Anslinger In 1930's the head of the FBI, whom Eliot Ness was modeled after, set out to publicize it as a public menace.
Marijuana drug-craze It was similar to the cocaine myths, drug-crazed minorities (now Mexican Americans also) coming after your daughters.
Reefer Madness Movie. Came out in 1936. The dangers of misinformation.
Marijuana Tax Act of 1937 Taxed it with a stamp. It was not illegal but the tax stamp was not printed.
1941 Mayor La Gaurdia of New York conducted a studyt tilted "Marijuana problem in New York City" the result were to be free from political bias. It found; Drug Dulled the intellect, reduces physical activity, doesn't incite violence.
1964 THC was isolated & synthesized. It is marketed as Marinol, tablets & suppositories.
Amotivational Syndrome It is real.
Effects of marijuana Mood swings, well-being, personal insight in which they cannot put into words.
Metabolism Highly lipid slouble binds to fat cells in the body accumulates & is slowly released into the blood.
Marijuana's Half-life 3 days to 1 week.
