Chapter 2-10 terms

These are 10 terms with their definitions from chapter 2!

TermDefinition
Malaise Not feeling well, discomfort.
Noncontributory Not related to this/a specific problem.
Oriented Being aware of who he or she is, where they are, and the current time. A patient who knows all three is "oriented"
Remission To improve or get better. Often used when discussing cancer.
Systemic/Generalized All over the body. (Or most of it)
Sequela A problem resulting from a disease or injury.
Prophylaxis Preventive treatment.
Palliative. Treating the symptoms, but not actually getting rid of the cause.
Caudal Towards the bottom. Think of "tail"
Discharge The release of a patient from a healthcare facility.
