Addictive Behavior This kind of behavior occurs when a person loses control of a habit with negative results. It occurs when you experience a desire to do something every day that you feel like you can't control.
Tachycardia This term refers to a heart rate that is higher than normal. It can be caused by chemicals signals generated by cocaine use.
Vasoconstriction A tightening of a person's blood vessels that leads to high blood pressure. The use of cocaine can lead to this process as the drug speeds up a person's heart.
Rhabdomyolysis A medical condition that involves the degradation of an individual's skeletal muscles. Some drugs can cause this.
Necrotizing Fasciitis Individuals who suffer from this condition are infected with a bacteria that severely destroys the soft tissues in the body, which may require amputations. It can be caused by drug use.
Narcotics Drugs in this category relieve pain but are also more likely to produce dependence than many other drugs.
