Juvenile Justice Vocabulary Unit 3 History
| Term | Definition |

| Juvenile | Anyone under the age of 17, a minor |
| Delinquent | A minor who has been charged with an act that would be a crime if committed by an adult |
| Delinquent Act | Act committed by a minor that would be considered a crime according to adult law |
| Unruly Act | Act committed by a minor that may be considered bad but NOT a crime according to adult law |
| Probable Cause | Having reasonable info or evidence to do something (such as convict someone or suspect them of a crime) |
| Custody | The act of being arrested and kept by law enforcement |
| Informal Adjustment | Alternative to putting a minor through the trial process; allows them to be held accountable but with less formality |
