CCMA CH 6 REVIEW (Body Systems - Urinary)
| Term | Definition or Function |

| kidneys | - located on either side of the vertebral column at the level of the top lumbar vertebrae - removes waste from the blood, producing urine |
| ureters | - long tubes responsible for carrying urine from the kidneys to the urinary bladder |
| urinary bladder | - small muscular sac located within the pelvic cavity - stores urine |
| urethra | - tube responsible for carrying urine from the urinary bladder to the outside of the body - longer in males due to pelvic shape and prostate position |
| urinary system | filters blood to remove waste products, which is prepared into urine |
