flag football

TermDefinition
Balanced line a line up where there is an equal number of players on each side of the center
Hook /button hook a common pass pattern where the receiver runs toward a defender, stops and turns quickly toward the quarterback.
Defensive team the team without the ball
Fumble when a player who has the ball loses control of it , causing it to fall to the ground.
Handoff a play where the ball is handed to another player who attempts to run for a gain or yardage.
Line of scrimmage an imaginary line where each team lines up and a “neutral zone” in between them.
Offsides when a player on either team moves past their line of scrimmage before the ball is snapped by the center.
Signals the numbers called by the quarterback before the ball is hiked.
Strong side the side of an unbalanced line that has more players.
Weakside the side of the unbalance line with the fewest number of players.

Who hikes the football to the quarterback? center
What happens when the ball hits the ground ? the play is over
How many downs does the offensive team have to score a touchdown? 4
An incomplete pass or fumble is considered what? dead ball or play is over

What is the quarterbacks responsibility? pass or hand off the ball to the wide receivers'
What is the wide receivers' responsibility? run patterns and catch passes
What is the center's responsibility? hike the ball to the quarterback, and also to protect the quarterback
What is the cornerbacks responsibility? cover the wide receivers
What is the safety's responsibility? stay back and cover offensive players who get through
