Nature means Physical characteristics that are genetically passed on from parents. These are natural
Nurture means Environmental and social factors that can impact or influence the development of an individual.
Holistic development is the individual as a whole person where all areas of development are incorporated.
Interdependency means relationship and the dependency of each area of development and its impact on the individual’s wellbeing.​
Formal relationships relationships that are professional and don’t involve feelings of love e.g. teachers, bosses and managers
Informal relationships relationships that are linked to family and friends and are more linked to love and emotions e.g. mum, dad, girlfriend and boyfriend
Examples of nature Eye colour, blood group, hair colour and skin colour
Examples of nurture Diseases, accent, weight, diet, exercise, education
Primary sexual characteristics things that develop and are needed so we can have children
Secondary sexual characteristics changes to the body during puberty that are not linked to having a child. e.g. hair growth, deeper voice and acne.
