autonomic nervous system (ANS) | nerves that impulse involuntary movements to smooth muscle, cardiac muscle, etc. |
Hypothalamus | located near the pituitary gland its the located near the pituitary gland |
sympathetic nervous system | this part of the autonomic nervous system prepares the body in stressful or emergency situations. |
spinal nerves | 31 pairs of nerves arising from the spinal cord |

hypochondriasis | A disorder in which someone continuously thinks they may be or become ill |
intellectual disability | a condition of below average intelligence or mental ability and lack of skills necessary for everyday life |
bulimia nervosa | an eating disorder in which someone is binge eating then limits digestion through induced vomiting, use of laxatives, or excessive exercise. |
electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) | electric shocks given to the brain to induce convulsions, people with depression are treated with this. |
Antianxiety/Anxiolytic Agents | drugs used to reduce anxiety |
