What is the definition of Narcotics? Narcotics are specific drugs that are obtainable only by prescription and are used to relieve pain – very addictive.
What is the classification and definition of Morphine? 1. Narcotics. 2. Prescription drug used to treat extreme pain.
What is the classification and definition of Codeine? 1. Narcotics. 2. Prescription drug used to treat extreme pain.
What is the classification and definition of Heroin? 1. Narcotics. 2. Illegal drug made from morphine – most commonly abused narcotic – potentially fatal (street drug)
What is the definition of Stimulants? Stimulants are substances that speed up the body’s functions like heart rate, breathing and blood pressure (ex. caffeine, amphetamine, cocaine, crack) – very addictive.

What is the classification and definition of Amphetamine? 1. Stimulants. 2. A drug that stimulates the Central Nervous System – often prescribed for treating hyperactive children.

What is the classification and definition of Tranquilizers? 1. Depressants. 2. Prescribed to help reduce anxiety and relax muscles, AKA: Valium, Librium, Xanax.
What is the classification and definition of Barbiturates? 1 .Depressants. 2. Powerful sedatives that produce a feeling of relaxation, AKA: Downers, Barbs, Yellow Jackets, Reds (street drugs).

What is the definition of Hallucinogens? Hallucinogens are drugs that distort moods, thoughts and senses – often leads to misjudgment which can result in death (street drugs).

What is the definition of Inhalants? Inhalants are any substance whose fumes are sniffed and inhaled to produce a mind-altering sensation.
Where does the fumes of Inhalants go? Fumes go directly to the brain and will damage not only the brain, but also the liver, kidneys and other vital organs - a single use could result in sudden death.
What is an example of Inhalants? Spray paint, cleaning fluid, lighter fluid, hair spray, nail polish remover, and other substances.
What is the definiton of street drug? Street Drugs are drugs made or sold outside of the government’s regulations.
What is Marijuana? Marijuana is a plant containing the chemical THC, that is smoked and affects the functioning of the brain & damages heart/lungs - the most commonly used street drug - addictive, AKA: Pot, Grass, Weed, Joint, Herb.
What other type of Drug is a street drug? Hallucinogens are also considered street drugs?
What are Club Drugs? Club Drugs are drugs associated with nightclubs, concerts and raves.
What is Ecstasy? A stimulant/hallucinogen pill – can cause permanent brain damage, AKA: E, X, XTC.
What is GHB? A depressant powder/liquid – extremely dangerous when combined with alcohol or other drugs - results in sleep, coma or death, AKA: Liquid Ecstasy, Liquid X, Georgia Home Boy.
What is Rohypnol? Powerful sedative pill – causes sleepiness and possible blackouts, AKA: Date Rape Drug, Roofies, R-2.
What is Ketamine? Anesthetic used by veterinarians for animals – causes hallucinations – possible respiratory failure
What is a Anabolic Steroids? Anabolic Steroids are a synthetic form of the male growth hormone that causes muscles to bulk up quickly – harmful effects include: acne mood swings nausea liver damage brain cancers shorter adult height when used by children and teens
