TermDefinition
Acute ( ah-kyoot ) it just started recently or is a sharp, severe symptom.
Chronic ( KRAH-nik ) it has been going on for awhile now.
Lethargic ( la-THAR-jik ) a decrease in level of consciousness; in a medical record, this is generally an indication that the patient is really sick.
Genetic /heriditary ( jih-NEH-tik, hah-REH-dih-TEH-ree ) It runs in the family.
Unremarkable ( un-ree-MARK-ah-bul ) another way of saying normal.
Ausculation ( aus-kul-LAY-shun ) to listen.
Palpation ( pal-PAY-shun ) to feel.
Localized ( LOH-kah--LAIZD ) stays in a certain part of the body.
Mortality ( mor-TA-lih-tee ) the risk of dying.
Occult ( ah-KULT ) hidden.
