Medial Terminology for Health Science, Week 1

Appendic Appendix. Appendectomy- the removal of the appendix
Blephar Eyelid. Blepharospasm- uncontrolled eyelid twitch
Artho Joint. Arthritis- inflammation of a joint
Bronch Bronchus. Bronchitis- inflammation of the bronchi
Carcin Cancer. Carcinoma- cancerous tumor
Cardio Heart. Cardiology- study of the heart
Cephal Head. Cephalopathy- disease or disorder of the head
Cerebr Brain. Cerebrospial- pertaining to the brain and spinal cord
Cervix Neck. Cervical- pertaining to the neck
Chrondr Cartilage. Chrondrectomy- removal of cartilage
Cranio Skull. Craniotomy- incision into the skull
Adren Adrenal Gland. Adrenalectomy- removal of the adrenal gland
Arter Artery. Arteriosclerosis- hardening of an artery
Cheil Lip. Cheilorrhaphy- repair of the lip
Chole Bile/Gall. Cholecystectomy- removal of the gallbladder
