Hypothalamus Small part of the brain near the pituitary gland that regulate temp and releases hormones.
Febrile presence of a fever
afebrile absence of a fever
Intermittent Fever fluctuating fever that returns to or below base temp that up again.
Remittent fever Fluctuating fever that remains high and doesn't return to base temp.
Continuous fever Fever that remains high with no fluctuation
axillary temp least accurate temp in armpit
Rectal most accurate temp.
tympanic temp in the ear, for kids and confused pts.
