Exam and treatment patient positions
| Term | Definition |

| Supine/ Horizontal Recumbent Position | Lay on back, legs extended, arms above head. Common for physical examination. |
| Dorsal recumbent Position | Lay on back, knee flexed, and flat feet. |
| Full Fowler's | Bed at 90 degrees |
| Semi- Fowler's | Bed at 45 degrees |
| Dorsal Lithotomy Position | Exam position for pelvic organs. legs separated on stirrups. |
| Prone position | Lay on stomach, examine back, amputee position to straighten limb. Not for patients with breathing trouble. |
| Sim's position | Lay on left side with right knee flexed against stomach, left knee slightly flexed. Rectum exam |
| knee chest position | rectal and vaginal exam , lazy downward dog |
| Trendelenburg | head and feet at 45 degree angle. stabilizing someone about to faint, primarily for pelvis and abdomen surgery. |
