TermDefinition
HIV (human immunodefficiency virus) The virus that causes AIDS.
Acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) AIDS is the most severe phase of HIV infection.
Opportunistic infection An infection that can take advantage not normaly available.
Carrier A person who has the disease, but no symptoms. Can transmit to others.
