What is Hunger? Hunger is a natural drive that protects us from starvation.
What is an Appetite? An appetite is a desire to eat.
What is Nutrition? Nutrition is the process by which the body takes in and uses food.
What is Fiber? Fibers are dietary material containing substances such as cellulose, lignin, and pectin, which are resistant to the action of digestive enzymes. Examples: Cereal
What is R.D.A? Recommended Dietary Allowance: The RDA, the estimated amount of a nutrient (or calories) per day considered necessary for the maintenance of good health by the Food and Nutrition Board of the National Research Council/ National Academy of Sciences.
What is F.D.A? The Food and Drug Administration (FDA or USFDA) is a federal agency of the United States Department of Health and Human Services, one of the United States federal executive departments.
What are Food Additives? Food Additives are substances added to food intentionally to produce a desired affects Example: Popeye's Chicken
What are Enriched foods? Enriched foods are products to which nutrients have been added. Example: Pasta made with enriched white flour.
What is Light? Light is the natural agent that stimulates sight and makes things visible. Example: The sun
What is Less? a smaller amount of; not as much. Example: A small ration of food.
What is Free? not physically restrained, obstructed, or fixed; unimpeded. Example: Lifting weights
