What is Health? Health is the the combination of your physical, mental/emotional, and social well being. Example: Physical , mental/emotional, and Social health
What is Wellness? Wellness is your total health. Example: Physical,mental/emotional, and social health
What is a Lifestyle Factor? Lifestyle factors are personal behaviors and habits related to the way a person lives. Example: Eating breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily.
What is Prevention? Prevention is practicing healthy habits to keep a person well and free from disease. Example: Wearing seat belts.
What is a Health Continuum? A Health Continuum is an integrated system of healthcare that follows a patient through a range of services. Example: N/A
What is Heredity? Heredity is all the traits and properties that are passed along biologically from both parents to their child. Example: Eye color
What is an Environment? An environment is the sum total of your surroundings. Example: Your family
What is Culture? Culture are your beliefs, customs, and behaviors of a group. Example: Language
What are Risk Factors? Risk factors are actions and behaviors that represent potential health risks. Example: Alcohol and other drug abuse
What are Cumulative Risks? Cumulative Risks are risks that increase gradually and may add up to a total that is greater than expected. Example: Smoking cigarettes
