What is Mental, Emotional, and Social Health? your ability to deal in a reasonable way with the stress and change of daily life.
What is stress? your body's response to change.
What is conflict? a disagreement or argument between two or more people with different views.
Who influences conflict? family, friends, education, religion, celebrities.
How can you relieve stress? music, friends, sports, humor, reading, art.
List some emotions. happy, sad, mad, depressed, surprised.
Give some examples of decisions. choosing an outfit, choosing an answer on a test, choosing between a friend, choosing a hairstyle, etc.
Where can you get help if you suspect if someone is at risk for either suicide or self injury? 1-888-222-2228 or 2ndfloor.org
What are some forms of self injury? punching, hitting, scratching, choking, biting, burning, stabbing, self- poisoning.
What are the signs of suicide? talking about death or methods of suicide, avoiding activities that involve family or friends, showing a low level of energy, taking greater risks than usual, losing interest in hobbies, sports, or school, giving award pride, having a background of suicid
What are the steps in the decision making model? determine the problem, examine the choices, consider the consequences, identify your values, decide and act, and evaluate your decision.
Be able to describe both positive and negative approaches to solving conflict. negative- ignore it, run away, throw a tantrum, make fun of someone, physical violence. positive- talk it out, listen, identify the cause, trade places, cool off.
Know where most people like to injure themselves and why. legs, arms, abdomen, inner thighs. These places can be covered up easily.
