What cells are there and what is inside them.

Cell Wall Animal cells don't have one Plants: made of cellulose Gives strength structure & rigidity to plant thru Turgor Pressure
Cell Membrane Outside covering Determines what goes in/out of cell Flexible but supports cells
Vacuole Storage unit in cells that hold water Large in plants, small in animal cells
Nucleus Control center of cell Houses DNA Controls cell growth and makes ribsome
Lysosome Contains digestive enzymes to break things down in cell
Mitochondria "Power of the cell" Produces energy(breaks down glucose)
Cytoplasm Gelatinous, semi-transparent fluid that fills cells Organelles are suspended in cytoplasm
Rough Endoplasmic Reticulum Covered in ribosomes, stores proteins
Smooth Endoplasmic Reticulum (No Ribosomes) transports cell products
Ribosome Site of protein synthesis
Golgi Body Packages cell products for transport (like UPS)
Chloroplast Site of photosynthesis: captures radiant energy and converts it to chemical energy
