Skeletal Muscles | The muscles attached to bones that enable you to move. |
Smooth Muscles | the muscles found in organs, blood vessels and glands. |
Cardiac Muscles | Muscles found only in the walls of your heart |
Voluntary Muscles | Muscle whose action is normally controlled by an individual's will; mainly skeletal muscle. |
Involuntary Muscles | Any of the smooth muscles, except for the cardiac muscle, not under control of the will. |
Muscles working in pairs | How skeletal muscles move the body, ex. biceps and triceps. |
Contraction | The shortening of muscle fibers. |
Extension | The lengthening of muscle fibers. |
