What is respiratory distress? When someone is struggling to get air in.
What do you do if someone is chocking? Tell them to keep coughing. Get someone to call 9-1-1. Stay with them.
Why would you tell someone to keep coughing? They might be able to get whatever is in their throat out themselves.
Why would you call 9-1-1? Even though they are still coughing they might quit at some point and also they might have damaged their air ways with whatever as lodged in their throat.
What is respiratory arrest? When someomne is not getting any air.
How do you gain expressed conesnt? Say your name. Say your trained. Ask if you can help.
What do you do when a person quits coughing and is in respiratory arrest? You need to begin the life saving techniques used when someone's airways are completely blocked.
What are the steps of helping someone who has something lodged in their throat and they have stopped breathing? Put 1 foot behind and beside them. Then you bend them at the waist woth your arm across chest and them after that you make a fist and put it above the bell button nd push in and up.
What is the muscle located below the lungs? Diaphragm
How many back blows and abdominal thrusts do you do? 5 Each until the substance comes out the throat or the person goes unconciuos.
What do you do if the person goes unconcious? Lower them to the ground and make sure you support they head and spine.
What are the signs of chocking? Pointing at the throat. Coughing alot, Big eyes.
