Muscles of the Scapula Stabilization

Muscles of Scapula Stabilization   Trapezius, Pectoralis Minor, Serratus Anterior, Levator Scapula, Rhomboid Major & Minor  
Trapezius   Extends the neck, Upper fibers elevate the clavicle, act in elevation and upward rotation of the scapula. The lower fibers act in depression and upward rotation of the scapula.  
Rhomboid Major & Minor   Adducts the scapula and aids in downward rotation.  
Levator Scapula   Elevates the scapula and rotates downward  
Serratus Anterior   Helps to hold the scapula in place, functions in abduction and rotation.  
Pectoralis Minor   Pulls the scapula downward and forward, and helps to stabilize.
