Step 12 | Hold pressure on the puncture site with a sterile 2x2 gauze pad

Step 13 | Access the patients physical condition

Step 14 | Discard the test strip in a biohazard bag

Step 15 | Apply a band-aid on the puncture site
🗑

||||
Step 16 | Disinfect the glucometer with alcohol swabs

||||
Step 17 | Discard exam gloves in a biohazard bag
🗑

||||
Step 18 | Wash your hands

Step 19 | Document the patients test results and physical condition in the medical record

||||
Step 20 | Ask the patient to document all their glucose levels in a BS log
