| Irrigation system | An artificial application of water to the soil |
| Ethnic group | a group of people who share the learned beliefs and practices of culture passed down through the family. They share language, appearance, history, and customs. |
| infrastructure | the built environment of basic facilities needed for a community or a society such as schools, water, and power lines, transportation, and prisons. |

| Describe how a Unitary government distributes power. | The majority of the power is in the central authority, very little is regional. Example is Saudi Arabia. |
| Describe how a confederation government distributes power. | The power is held by a voluntary association of independent states. Those states are joined together for a special reason. They give only a few powers to the central authority. examples-OPEC and UN |
| Describe how a federal government distributes power. | Power is divided between one central government and several regional authorities. The US is a good example. |

| Who has the power in a Parliamentary government? | The citizens. They vote for the members of their legislature, who then elect a Prime Minister. |
| Who has the power in an Absolute Monarchy? | The King, who works with religious leaders and influential citizens. |
| Who has the power in a theocratic government? | Mostly a religious leader. The leader can remove anyone from power at any time. |
