| Normocytic | RBC's that are normal in size (for that species) in diameter. |
| Macrocytic | Large RBC's |
| Microcytic | Small RBC's |
| Anisocytic | General term indicating INCREASED variation in size of RBC. |
| Normochromic | Normal in color. |
| Hypochromic | RBCs with a large central pallor; decreased hemoglobin content. |
| Polychomasia | RBCs that are bigger with a bluish tint. Indicative of young cells. |
