How does Brucella cause spread of infection? (How does it gain entry into the host?) Infection is caused by ingestion, inhalation, contact, conjunctiva, venereal, or AI
Explain the pathogenesis of Brucella After the infectious specimen gains entry, the organism is carried to the lymph nodes. From here, there is bacteremia spread and localization in different organs. Various disease symptoms occur.
What type of diseases can Brucella cause in the reproductive tract? Abortions in cows Orchitis & epididymitis in bulls
What type of diseases can Brucella cause in the mammary gland? Organism is shed in large numbers in the milk
What type of diseases can Brucella cause in the reticuloendothelial system? Liver, spleen, and bone marrow are effected
What type of generalized infections are caused by Brucella? Lungs, kidney, joints, and bones are affected
