Drug Substance intended for the use of diagnosis, treatment, cure, mitigation, or prevention of disease in man or animal. A substance intended to affect the structure of an function of body man or animal.
Controlled Substance A drug, substance, or immediate precursor in schedules I through V or Article II
Brand Name The proprietary or trade name selected by a manufacturer and placed upon a drug, its container, label, or wrapping at the time of packaging
Generic Name The non proprietary name of a drug or drug ingredients
Legend Drug Any drug which is required by federal or state law or regulations of the state board of pharmacy to be dispensed on prescription only or restricted to the use by practitioners only.

Packaging Using childproof containers, using the smallest container the medication fits in, and making sure all drugs are logged in client records
Ordering, stocking, inventory, and delivery of medication Assurance as to the proper medication, the appropriate client/patient, the amount and strength of the medication, the correct directions for use and proper packaging
Excluded tasks Consult with client regarding medication involving professional judgement, delivery of medication without authority of veterinarian, determination of product dispensed, compounding of medication order, any activity issued to a licensed vet.
