infectious bovine rhinotracheitis caused by bovine herpesvirus -1. very contagious. symptoms: rhinitis, nasal and ocular discharge and salivation. commonly known as red nose. no treatment. prevention: isolate animal, vaccines, biosecurity
porcine circovirus PCV2 is most common. transmission occurs through direct contact and body secretions. affects young pigs symptoms: wasting, rough hair/ hide, jaundice, and inflammation pf lymph nodes. no treatment. prevention: vaccination, biosecurity
porcine parvovirus most common swine reproductive failure. responsible for stillbirth and embryonic death. transmitted through direct contact and fomites. symptoms: stillbirths, litter sizes, low birth weight, mummified no treatment no treatment. prevention: culled, vaccin
rabies causes brain deterioration/ death. zoonotic. 100% fatal. transmitted though saliva. symptoms: alertness/ staring, altered vocalization, and seizures. no treatment. prevention: vaccinations, cautious handling
