Stocker Relatively thin feeder animal purchased to utilize low-quality feed.
Scrub Animal inferior in breeding and individuality
Stud Reproductive active male for hire for breeding.
Weanling Recently weaned animal
Yearling Animal which is one year old
Stag An animal castrated after sexual characteristics have developed.
Cryptorkid Male animal with single functioning testicle
Bovine Relating to cattle
Bull Uncastrated malebeef or dairy cattle
Bullock Male cattle castrated after puberty and secondary sexual characteristics have developed
Bob veal Slaughter calves younger than three weeks old
Calf Young cattle
Calving Parturition in cattle
Cow Female cattle who has had a calf
Doogie A motherless calf
Freemartin Female twin of a bull calf, usually sterile
Heifer Female bovine which has not had a calf
Heiferette A heifer that has calved once and is then fed for slaughter.
Springer Female bovine at advanced stage of pregnancy
Steer Castrated beef/dairy animal
Veal calf Slaughter calves, usually less than three months old
