What Happens During Stage 2 Of The Nursing Process (Planning)? -Formation of a plan that aims to... -Solve actual problems and prevent recurrence. -Prevent potential problems from becoming actual problems. -Help the terminal patient to be as comfortable as possible in addition to supporting the client.
Why Are Setting Goals Important For The Planning Stage Of The Nursing Process Model? -Helps to make plans achievable. -The nurse is able to prioritise, making short and long term goals.
What Happens During Stage 3 Of The Nursing Process (Implementation)? -Undertaking of nursing care following the plan created. -Nursing care must be recorded either on the patients care plan, hospital sheet or computer record.
What Happens During Stage 4 Of The Nursing Process (Evaluation)? -Reflective stage. -Outcomes and nursing care appraised to assess whether goals in plan have been reached. -If there is no improvement/deterioration of the patient, the initial plan will need to be adjusted.
What Is Formative and Summative Evaluation? Formative Evaluation = Ongoing evaluation carried out while patient is still in hospital. Summative Evaluation = Takes place after nurse is no longer involved in patient care (patient has been discharged).
What Is The Ability Nursing Model? -Created in 2007 by Hilary Orpet and Andrea Jeffery. -Takes into account 3 main aspects: the 10 abilities, lifespan, and key influencing factors (cultural, financial, owner compliance).
What Are The 10 Abilities Of The Ability Nursing Model? -Eating. -Drinking. -Urination. -Defecation. -Breathing. -Maintenance of body temperature. -Self grooming. -Mobility. -Sleep and rest. -Normal behaviour expression. *Animal considered healthy if they achieve all these*
