Personal Safety and Animal Handling

| Play behavior | training for life activities; play strengthens social bonds while providing an outlet for energy |
| Precautions | measures taken in advance to prevent something dangerous, unpleasant or inconvenient from happening |
| Radioactive | emitting or relating to the emission of ionizing radiation or particles |
| Reefer's knot | a simple binding knot based on the square knot with a half bow that secures two lengths of rope together |
| Reproductive | relating to mating, giving birth |
| Resting | lying down, sitting, basking, sleeping |

| Sharps | medical term for devices with sharp points or edges that can cut or puncture skin and cause harm to the person handling them |
| Social | working to create relationships; gregarious, interactional, organized together, as in helping the group with grooming, etc. |
| Square knot | a type of double knot that is made symmetrically to hold securely and be easily untied |
| Squeeze chute | a device used to restrain large animals, especially cattle and horses |
| Stanchion | a specially designed head gate to hold an animal in place while allowing feeding and resting |
