prone, pronation laying face down (in ventral recumbency)

recumbent lying down
rostal toward the nose
superficial surface of the body
supine, supination lying face up (in a dorsal recumbency)
ventral a position more toward the abdomen
occlusal the chewing or biting surface
buccal tooth surface toward the cheek
lingual tooth surface toward the tongue
contact tooth surface facing an opposing tooth
mesial tooth surface closest to the midline
