| External ear parts? | Pinna, ear canal, tympanic membrane |
| Middle ear parts? | Eustachian tube, Ossicles bones |
| What is an otoscope? | Hand held device with a light, for looking into the external ear canal |
| Other possible equipment for otoscope? | Ear curette or loop, alligator forceps. |
| Common ear problems? | Otitis externa, mites, ruptured tympanic membrane, aural hematoma |
| What does a schirmer tear test? | It tests tear production. |
| Common eye problems? | Corneal abrasion, entropion, ectropion, cataracts, cherry eye, KCS, glaucoma, proptosis |
| For ear exam, what should you note? | Objects, mites, irritation, debri (colour, texture), smell |
| For eye exam, what should you note? | Abnormalities of eyelids, sclera, cornea, iris, lens, nictitating membrane, anterior chamber. Also note: discharge, tumors, yellow sclera, cloudy cornea, inverted eyelashes, iris spots, pupil size, PLR, entropion |
| Anesthetic used for eyes? | Proparacaine |
