| statement | a definite or clear expression of something in speech or writing |
| peer review | evaluation of scientific, academic, or professional work by others working in the same field |
| validity | the quality of being logically or factually sound; soundness or cogency |
| experimental design | is the process of planning a study to meet specified objectives |
| patent | a government authority or license conferring a right or title for a set period, especially the sole right to exclude others from making, using, or selling an invention |
| intellectual property | a work or invention that is the result of creativity, such as a manuscript or a design, to which one has rights and for which one may apply for a patent, copyright, trademark, etc |
| confidence level | the probability that the value of a parameter falls within a specified range of values |
| experimental stations | an establishment for scientific research (as in agriculture) where experiments are carried out, studies of practical application are made, and information is disseminated |
| literature | written works, especially those considered of superior or lasting artistic merit |
| hypothesis | a supposition or proposed explanation made on the basis of limited evidence as a starting point for further investigation |
