What is a resting heart rate? Is the speed at which your heart beats per minute. The heart beat is typically expressed as beats per minute. (bpm)
Where does a normal resting heart rate range? 60-100 beats per minute.
What is a target heart rate? Is the point at which physical fitness begins to improve.
What is a maximum heart rate? It is the highest heart rate an individual can achieve without severe problems during exercise.
How do you figure out your maximum heart rate? You subtract your age from 220. (207 is mine.)
What is cardiovascular endurance? It is the ability of your heart and lungs to supply oxygen-rich blood for a sustained amount of time during physical activity.
What are some activities that will increase cardiovascular endurance? Zumba, Insanity, P90x, T25, swimming, running, and walking.
How do you know when you have an increase in cardiovascular endurance? When your resting heart rate decreases in beats per minute.
What does the target heart rate for middle school students range to? 103-178 beats per minute.
