cystotomy | a surgical incision into the urinary bladder. |
external sphincter | muscle that constricts membranous urethra to retain urine in bladder; nerve supply, pudendal |
kidneys | each of a pair of organs in the abdominal cavity of mammals, birds, and reptiles, excreting urine. |
nephrectomy | surgical removal of one or both of the kidneys. |
nephrolithotomy | a minimally-invasive procedure to remove stones from the kidney by a small puncture wound |
nephorrhaphy | Joining together, usually by suture, of the two parts of a divided nerve. |
nephrotomy | surgical incision of a kidney (as for the extraction of a calculus) |
open drainage of a perirenal abscess | carries minimal morbidity. Therefore, a trial of percutaneous drainage should be the initial modality of treatment for perinephric abscess. |

uterus | the organ in the lower body of a woman or female mammal where offspring are conceived and in which they gestate before birth; the womb. |
urethra | the duct by which urine is conveyed out of the body from the bladder, and which in male vertebrates also conveys semen. |
urinary bladder | a hollow muscular organ that collects urine from the kidneys before disposal by urination. |
urodynamics | the diagnostic study of pressure in the bladder, in treating incontinence. |
