Term | Definition |
Increase | To make greater, as in number, size, strength, or quality |
Decrease | To diminish, reduce or lessen in extent, quantity, strength, power |
Energy | The capacity for vigorous activity; available power |
Energy Expenditure | the amount of calories/fuel used up |
Physical Fitness | Capacity to carry out daily tasks with optimum efficiency |
Aerobic | steady activity in which the heart can supply all the oxygen the muscles need. Examples are marathon runners, cyclist. |
Anaerobic | Exercise that does not require large amounts of oxygen to perform. Like swimming, weightlifting. More muscular strength exercises. |
Core Muscles | The muscles of the abdomen and back that hold the body upright |
Duration | Time spent doing something (a particular exercise) |
Intensity | the level of difficulty of an exercise |
