How are scientists able to use the element C-14 to date artifacts they find? | The C-14 (which is radioactive) becomes N-14 as the item decays. Scientists know the half - life of N-14 and can use that information to determine how old something is. |

Because C-14 dating can only date artifacts that are 10,000 years old, what other technique do scientists need to use? How far back can this technique date artifacts? | They use "thermoluminescence", which can date artifacts that are as old as 200,000 years old. |
What ended the Neolithic Era? | The Bronze Age began. Neolithic artisans discovered that they could heat metal - bearing rocks to extract the metal, which they could use to make weapons and tools. |

When did the Paleolithic Age occur? | This covered the years from 2,500,000 - 10,000 B.C.E. |
What are the two (2) theories of where the Garden of Eden was located? | 1.) One group believes that it is located between the Tigris & Euphrates Rivers in Modern day Iraq; 2.) The other group believes that we cannot know because the flood of Noah's time changed the surface of the Earth. |

What does the term "hominid" mean/ refer to? | This term refers to "a human - like creature that walked upright". |
What is the difference between a primary and a secondary source? | Primary sources are artifacts that were written or created during the period you are studying; secondary sources were created after the period you are studying. |
