Loire Chenin Blanc can be smoky, mineral, can be botrytized, style directly related to degree of ripeness, does not ripen evenly, best on limestone, consume in first 10 years
Loire Melon Blanc (muscadet/melon de bourgogne) neutral, green apple, grassy, versatile, food friendly, ripens early, frost resistant
Loire Sauv Blanc vinification avoids excessive herbaceousness, fruity varietal character, fermented at moderate temp, restrained when compared with NZ style, may be oaked
Loire Cab Franc fragrant, juicy, light tannin, high acidity, higher acid and tannin with oak aging, some rose
Sancerre AC Central Vineyard, Loire, chalky, well drained, soil like Chablis
