| Henry Hudson (England) | Sailed for the Netherlands and came to North America. Wanted to find a northwest passage. Explored what is now the Hudson River and Bay & enabled Dutch settlers to settle the Hudson River valley. Son & he were set afloat in a boat & lost at sea. |
