Define fief. Land given to a knight in exchange for protection.
Define Feudalism. A system that helped people to survive the breakdown of central government during the Middle Ages, protecting them from violence and to provide basic economic needs
What was the Magna Carta and who signed it? Signed by King John in 1215 AD, also called the "Great Charter", and limited the monarch's power. It was an important step for future democratic movements.
Who was William the Conqueror? Norman king who defeated the Anglo-Saxon king, making him the first Norman king of England.
