Schleifen plan The plan plotted the invasion of Belgium and the encirclement of the French armies within 42 days, PROVIDED that the Belgians capitulated quickly and the French Army contested and met defeat during the German invasion.
Plan XVII The French army’s plan 17 stipulated attack through Alsace Lorraine, the most heavily fortified region in Western Europe. They ignored the extent of the German right wing’s swing through Belgium.
OberOst New German command after little success on Western Front for Germany. Germany felt need to attack using meneuver tactics on Easter front, appointing Hindenburg and Ludendorff. Won battles Tannenburg (August 1914) and Gorlice Tarnow (May 1915)

Treaty of Brest-Litovsk Russia's exit from the war in 1918. Germany left with a lot of gains of countries with a lot of resources
Michael Offensive Spring 1918- Marked the beggining of the end of WWI. Germany although they didnt neccisarily lose the battle began to lose the war all together. Entente had allies coming, Germany was falling apart
Sykes-Picot Agreement agreements between GB, France, defineing the way they would divide up the ottoman empire after the war was over. Bolshevik revolution exposes this....great distrust between allies and the arab nations
