Machiavelli The wrote "The Prince" which told one how to retain power.
John Calvin's 3 belief's: 1) Cannot gain salvation through faith alone 2)Predestination 3) Purified approach to life: no gambling, drinking, etc.
What occurred at the Council of Trent in response to the Protestant Reformation? Traditional Catholic teachings were reaffirmed, and good faith / works were declared necessary for salvation.
Jesuits (Created by Ignatius of Loyola) They swore complete allegiance to the Pope.
