What is a scribe? In ancient Egypt, a person whose job was to write and keep records.
What is hieroglyphs? Pictures that stand for words or sounds in the ancient Egyptian writing system
What is papyrus? Writing material similar to paper but made from a reed
What is afterlife? A life that followed death, according to the ancient Egyptians
What is a mummy? A body that has been dried so it won't decay
What is surgery? A medical procedure that Egyptian doctors were among the first to perform
What is astronomy? An area of study that led Egyptians to develop the first practical calendar
What is embalm? To preserve a body after death
polytheism? A belief in many gods
Who is Re? The Egyptian sun god
