What are the 7 colonies? The 7 colonies are Canada East, Canada West, Vancouver Island, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, New Found Land, and Prince Edward Island.
What are the unique features of Canada East? They had iron and steel foundries and almost entirely French.
What are the unique features of Canada West? They had wheat, they made potash and they had African American Loyalists.
What are the unique features of Nova Scotia? They had cool mining.
What are the unique features of New Brunswick? They were the only(or first) bilingual colony and they made some of the best wooden sailing ships in the world.
What are the unique features of New Found Land? They had a seal hunt every spring, they hunted whales in the summer for their oil and food and they had little(the least) trade with the other colonies.
What are the unique features of Prince Edward Island? They had red soil, rooted potatoes, they were isolated from the mainland in winter, and 60% of farmers paid rent to tenants in Great Britain.
What is Mercantilism? Mercantilism was when The BNA Colonies traded wheat, timber, and raw materials for low tariffs and in return Great Britain traded manufactured goods. Mercantilism created prosperity for the colonies and it gave them guaranteed market.
What are the Repeal Of The Corn Laws? When the Corn Laws were repealed The BNA colonies and other countries could trade with no tariffs with Great Britain. This created Economic hard times in the BNA colonies and they lost their guaranteed market. Bread got cheaper.
What is the Reciprocity Treaty? The reciprocity treaty allowed The BNA colonies and The United States to trade raw materials and agricultural goods for manufactured goods without tariffs. This increased prosperity for the BNA colonies.
Why did the colonies not trade within each other. The colonies did not trade within each other because they did not produce manufactured goods and they did not have good transportation
