Required preps for procedures

Arteriogram Clear liquids 24hr; NPO 8 hrs; may need laxatives if for abd
Arthrogram NPO 8 hrs
Barium Enema (BE) Laxatives day before; enemas morning of test
Barium swallow NPO 8 hrs
Bone Scan NPO 4 hrs; void before scan
CT NPO after midnight; no metal; check for claustrophobia
IVU or IVP Laxatives and enema; NPO 8 hrs
MRI May have flid restriction; remove all metal (cannot have metallic implants such as pacemaker, heart valves, aneurysm clips,artificial joint
Myelogram NPO 8 hrs
Pelvic Ultrasound Drink 32 oz water one hour prior to exam; must have full bladder
