| Oligarchy | Government ran by powerful men supported by the military. |
| Tyran | Member of the Aristocracy supported by the common people. |
| Democracy | People thought things should be voted on. |
| Helot | Peasants (people tied to land.) |
| Phalanx | Allowed 300 Spartans to defeat in the Persian war because of dicipline, military, and formation. |
