Complexity The state or quality of being intricate or complicated.
Ice Age A glacial episode where most of the earth is covered in Ice. The earth is covered in 'a sheet of ice". Our most recent ice age was during the Pleistocene period and has ended around 10,00 Years ago.
Goldilocks Principle The Goldilocks Principle states that something must fall within certain margins, as opposed to reaching extremes. This is important because it is used in many situations to reach a point that is "just right" rather than too extreme.
Gaia Gaia is "The Earth" personified as a goddess.
Agrarian Revolution The transformation of British agriculture during the 18th century, characterized by the enclosure of common land and the introduction of technological innovations such as the seed drill. Allowed greater production
Entropy Lack of order or predictability; gradual decline into disorder.
Emergence Emergence is how complex systems and patterns arise out of a multiplicity of relatively simple interactions.
Integration The action or process of integrating into one.
Paradox A seemingly true statement that lead to a contradiction or a situation which seems to defy logic or intuition.
Theory A supposition or a system of ideas intended to explain something. Theories are important because they lead to great achievements. Without theories scientific experiments wouldn't exist because there wouldn't be anything to prove.
Evolution The process by which different kinds of living organisms are thought to have developed and diversified from earlier forms throughout the history of earth.
Regime A system or planned way of doing things, esp. one imposed from above; A government especially an authoritarian one.
