Aspasia (ah-SPAY-zhah); teacher & writer; born ~470 B.C.E. in Miletus; friend of Pericles; in Athens opened a philosophy & debate school; supported women's rights; possibly wrote a speech for Pericles that he gave to honor Athenina soliders who died in battle
